Hello All!
So, question for all of you single working people: what do you do on your days off? You don’t have homework. You don’t have kids. You just have you. The reason I ask is because I sort of feel bad for having a very lazy day today, but I also don’t. I mean this week is going to be crazy, right? So I deserve to take a break before diving in, don’t you think?
I mean, it wasn’t a completely lazy day. This morning, Taylor and I made a small excursion to Walmart. (I should have taken pictures. Walmart is HUGE! It’s 3 floors and full of tons of stuff. The bottom floor is groceries, but there are also people selling fresh meat and fish. I wish I had taken a video. I think Taylor did. (I may have to steal it from her and post it.) I bought a few essential things, like a pillow, a quilt insert, and a towel. I figure it’s best to move into my apartment with a little bit of something, right?
After that, though, Taylor and I headed back to the hotel. We were waiting to see if Taylor heard anything back from people about apartments. So, as a result, I spent a lot of time in my room. I watched a bit of news (did you know that 3 African countries, including South Africa, pulled out of the UN’s ICC?) and then read for most of the day. It was really cold in my room, so I was in pajamas by 5pm. Later, Taylor came over with pizza! We sat and ate and played cards. It was really fun. We finished by 9:30, but we were so tired that by the end we were just a bunch of giggles.
So, while I’m sure I’ll have more to do once I actually start working, I need some suggestions. What’s a good way to occupy your time on your day off? I need something that will still let me rest and recharge, but not make me feel guilty for being a lazy bum.
Words to Remember: Mark 10:17-22
Challenge: Think about J—s’ command to the man. Could you do what He asked? Now look at verse 21. Do you see the part where it says, “and He loved him!”? Do you feel Abba’s love surrounding you? My devo says “Live in freedom and follow J—s.”
Bless,
Kristen
