Today was absolutely amazing! I can’t even begin to tell you how much I felt and saw today. I remember the feeling of doing Abba’s work, but it still hit me so hard today when we gave out those Bi—es. Going to those ch—ches and seeing all of our brothers and sisters in Ch—st was an absolute blessing. There was so much love and joy in each of those buildings. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced.
Today we visited three ch—ches to hand out Bi—es to the congregation. Although they were all technically with the Harbin city limits, all of them took at least an hour to get to and were in more village areas. While the drives were a bit rough and bumpy, they were wonderful opportunities to share stories and get to know our fellow travelers better.
Arriving at each of the ch—ches was similar. We were greeted as we got off our little bus and ushered into an office. There, we were able to spend a little bit of time getting to know the pastor and learning about the ch—ch and district’s history. After a short period of sharing, we were then taken to the sanctuaries, where we were greeted by many, many smiling faces. As we walked in everyone sang and clapped, many reaching out their hands to touch us and say hello. The love in that room was palpable and overwhelming. It was one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever experienced. After we were welcomed, we each gave a brief word of encouragement to the congregation, with the help of Jenny. At the last ch—ch, Jenny gave her testimony. Although I couldn’t understand most of it, it was beautiful to hear and see the reactions of those listening. It took great courage for her to share and I’m so grateful that she did.
Finally, we were able to hand out Bi—es. Each of us went around and individually gave each person a Bi—e. The reactions on their faces were too wonderful to try to describe. Many were so grateful that they were moved to tears. To each person I handed a Bi—e to, I said, “耶稣爱你!” (yē sū ài nĭ) which means, “Je—s loves you!” Many responded in kind or said, “G-d bless you.” It was such a beautiful, amazing, touching experience. I seriously can’t put it in words.
After we finished, we were able to spend a few minutes in worship with them. Then they gave us each little (or not so little) gifts. As we finished up, we were able to take some pictures with the members of the ch—ch. It was often very comical and enjoyable. Everyone was so excited to see us, to touch us, and to share Abba’s love with us.
I can’t believe we only have one more day. This trip has already been amazing and I can’t wait to see what Abba has in store for us tomorrow.
Abba Bless,
Kristen
