Okay, so today’s post is going to be super short because it’s very late and I want to go to bed.

Today had nothing much to report, actually. I went to work and co-taught a class with Adam. I think I did pretty well. He said that I seemed a lot more confident. I hope that’s true, because I’m going to start teaching by myself now and my observations will start soon. Let me give you a little EF lingo lesson really quickly. An observation is just what it sounds like. Someone comes into my class and observes me teaching. But these observations are going to be more like evaluations. These are going to determine whether or not I make it past EF’s probation period (2 months). The nice thing is that I will get feedback and learn how to do it better. The bad thing is that if I mess it up, I’m going home. I hope the latter will not happen.

I also observed Jenny’s class, which was fun. She’s such a good teacher. It’s amazing to see all of these people who have worked together and learned together teach in such different ways. I think it ends up being good for the kids, because there’s variety, but it’s also good for me, because I can see which ones I like best. For example, I like Adam and he’s a great teacher, but he’s a little too disorganized for me. I like Jenny’s interactions with the kids, but I don’t think I can do it nearly as well. But seeing it allows me to judge what I can do and modify it to work for me.

My favorite part of the day was at the end. I talked to Gretchen about co-teaching with her tomorrow. (Yes, she is now back at work. She has bronchitis, but they gave her some steroids and she’s doing much better. Thanks for the p—yers.) But after we talked about the class a bit, she told me that she’s having some friends from ch—ch over to her apartment tomorrow to watch a movie and just hang out. She invited me to come join them! I’m so excited. It’ll be nice to meet some other people, plus I really like Gretchen.

Anyway, sorry for no words or challenge tonight, I’m just too tired. I promise I will be better about it in the future. Have a good night, good day, good whatever.

Bless,
Kristen

P.S. My family got a new puppy yesterday, her name is Moe. In honor of her homecoming, the featured picture is of a stray dog I saw this morning on my way to work. They’re everywhere in China and I just want to take one of them home.
